Our Mondelez China employees help sell in thousands of stores during the Chinese New Year promotion period
For most people in China, Lunar New Year is THE holiday. There’s nothing quite like it, as millions of Chinese make their way home to enjoy family reunions and celebrate the holiday together. Similarly, for Mondelez China, there’s no selling occasion that’s bigger than Chinese New Year. So since 2011, our employees in China -- both from back offices and production lines -- have helped selling in thousands of stores during the Chinese New Year promotion period. “Go Out, Sell Out!” has now become a tradition of the Chinese New Year celebration among our own employees. This year, the Chinese New Year promotion covered even more traditional trade stores — over 40,000 stores! Of course, our front-line sales force was fully activated, but our back-office teams got equally involved. For example, the Beijing Oreo biscuit plant produced double its usual monthly volume in last December alone! Liu Jie, Operations Manager, shared the secret: “We’re leveraging innovative ideas to support Chinese New Year sales! Our team members contributed many innovative ideas. For example, we improved the packaging machines to reduce down time. Ideas like this significantly improved production efficiency.”
